A couple of lessons from Psalm 6:2…

Psa 6:2  Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

Even David’s very bones felt the fear that was inside of him.  Fear can have a physical effect on a person, especially when he perceives that God Himself is against him.

God’s correction is not meant for your destruction but for your healing.  He wants the cancer, the sin out of your life so more will not be destroyed.  He puts trials in your life so that you will seek Him and be rid of the corruption.

God tells us to be anxious for nothing, but “but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  If you are struggling with fear, memorize this verse and recite it to yourself when you come across one of those fearful times.  Another verse I have found helpful is Genesis 15:1, where it says, “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”  If you are in sin and you believe that God is against you, confess your sin to Him, and He will forgive you.  He is fathful and just to do that.  He will remove your sins as far as the east is from the west.  Remember – there is nothing that can separate you from the love of God, and it is because of His love that He chastens you.
