I was reading my Bible today, and I came to Proverbs 13:2, where Solomon speaks about how a man can live by the fruit of his mouth. I asked God, “Can you make me wise so that I can do that?”

Then I got to thinking, “Solomon was wise, but I don’t want to be like him… God, can you just make me more like Jesus? He was wise, but it didn’t get to His head.”

Being wise isn’t a bad thing at all – it’s a very good thing, but if all you are is wise and don’t follow Jesus, you’ll just end up like Solomon.
